What is the CBC?

The National Audubon Society Christmas Bird Count is an organized count to capture bird numbers and distribution during early winter.

Each CBC count is a 15-mile diameter circle which is approved by National Audubon. The actual count occurs in a 24-hour period (midnight to midnight) of a predefined date during the CBC season (December 14 through January 5). All wild bird species and individuals are counted.
