Information about the 115th Audubon Christmas Bird Count


From Audubon:

1. PLEASE NOTE:  new this season, you need to enter the date of your count for the 115th CBC before you can access the rest of the online data entry application.2. The bird checklists available for data entry this season are exactly the same as last season.  The splits of Clapper and King rails have not yet been included, so please enter these species as you have before.
3. The banding study of Loggerhead Shrikes breeding in Canada was continued this past summer, and many more birds were banded.  If you do find a banded Loggerhead Shrike (on the CBC or at any time of year!) we have a link to the reporting form on the CBC home page.

Clinton CBC December 21, 2014

Good morning, it is the season of Christmas Bird Counts!  The Clinton CBC will be Sunday, December 21, 2014 this year.  If you are a “regular” Clinton CBC’er, please join us again and we always welcome new friends to bird with us.  Please register at the following link through the Audubon website at http://birds.audubon.org/get-involved-christmas-bird-count-find-count-near-you .  Owling is always an option in the morning and we have had great birds show up on count day, including a Snowy Owl guest appearance last year.  A post count dinner will follow at JR’s Hometown Grill and Pub in Tecumseh at 5:30 p.m., parking is in back.  Please see the link for more details, they are open until 9 p.m. on Sunday:  http://www.jrsgrillandpub.com/ . Hope to see you December 21!

Keeping up with Citizen Science

A Message from National Audubon...

2013 Clinton Christmas Bird Count Date Posted

Hello CBC'ers, the date for the 2013 Clinton Christmas Bird Count will be Sunday, December 22nd, followed by dinner and fellowship at the Clinton Inn (roughly 5:30 p.m.).  Contact Johanna Lentz at buckandbirdie@gmail.com for more details and to get a section for the count circle. A Message From National Audubon....


The 114th Christmas Bird Count
 
Greetings Compilers,
The Find a circle and pre-registration features for the upcoming 114th CBC have been opened up; if you have not already done so, please take a minute to log into the CBC system and enter your upcoming count date or dates.
Please note that on Wednesday, November 20th the Audubon Newsletter will be emailed out, and this may result in a big jump in the number of people searching for information about CBCs in the upcoming season.  If your date is posted by then you may have quite a positive response!
--The initial version of the data entry application is now open for you to enter your upcoming dates, to check the information displayed to the public about your count, to access blank field forms, and to have a look at your compiler and participant lists.
--Your existing login information-your "username" and "password" from last year-will continue to work for you when you log in.  You now also have the ability to manage your own contact information in the "My Profile" section under your login name; this is where you should update your email address if it has changed.  Please note: if you change your e-mail address, this will then become you NEW Login NAME (your full e-mail address).

Audubon has moved to digital delivery of the Christmas Bird Count (CBC) results by producing a quarterly citizen science eNewsletter, American Birds, which contains the results of all our Citizen Science programs, including the articles and summaries that previously were distributed in the printed CBC summary editions of American Birds, as well as other opportunities that may interest you.Please take a moment to sign up now and also to share this information with others who may find it of interest.
If you have already signed up to receive the new Citizen Science eNewsletter, many thanks-you will receive our next quarterly edition of American Birds online in early November.
